Atomic Pictures is a full service video production and creative media company in Birmingham, Alabama. We specialize in post-production video editing and video production for television commercials and corporate presentations.
Since 1999, Atomic Pictures has been quietly churning out a pretty cool mix of television commercials for local, regional and national clients. We work with independent producers, advertising agencies, production companies and directly with clients from across the country. But we do more than great television commercials. Our experience extends to corporate video presentations, motion graphics, direct sales videos, trade show presentations and point-of-purchase materials.
Unless you live under a rock (not that there's anything wrong with that), you've seen our national work for some of America’s best know brands. But that doesn’t mean all we do is big budget advertising campaigns. We really spend more time on local and regional television commercials for automotive dealers, entertainment properties, hospitals and banks. Regardless the budget, we bring our A-Game and help lift every project to the next level. Got a television commercial, video project or any other creative project in the works? Give us a shout and see what we can do for you.
Atomic Pictures offers location video production services for television commercials, training videos, corporate presentations, documentary, infomercials, and web video. We offer multiple HD & 4K camera packages as well as lighting and grip.
Video editing used to be cutting a few scenes together, adding a dissolve or two, putting a logo on the end and calling it done. It’s a little more complicated these days and we have the tools and experience to handle pretty much any creative vision you might have. We like to go beyond the script, beyond the storyboard and kick it up a notch. We’re not happy until everything is perfect.
Atomic Pictures may have more national television advertising credits than anyone in town, but say you’re not working with a huge budget, not a problem. We take that top tier experience and help bring it down to projects of any size. We’re great at maximizing budgets to give our clients the greatest value and the most effective end product. Our three edit suites are equipped with the finest tools to complete the job on time and on budget.

With a tight deadline of only one day, Atomic Pictures was tapped with cleaning up important elements in a television commercial for Lenovo’s K900 smartphone featuring NBA superstar Kobe Bryant. Fixes include removing brand logos from an ever-moving basketball and smoothing wrinkles in wardrobe.
Simply blurring or painting out the logos and wrinkles wasn’t an option. It had to look perfect and completely natural. Using the unique abilities of Autodesk Flame, we were able to replace large sections of the ball on a frame by frame basis with a perfectly rendered 3d replacement. Our 3D elements matched the dramatic lighting and revealed the well-known dimpled texture of the ball. The results were seamless.
Atomic Pictures has worked on numerous projects for the United States Postal Inspection Service; the law enforcement side of the US Postal Service. The USPIS has used our work in broadcast, public awareness programs, point of purchase materials and for internal training. Always looking for new ways to engage workers, we worked with High Noon Film and Interactive to produce several training films in the dark and gritty graphic novel style. Traditional illustrations were combined with rich 3d environments, selective color and other advanced post techniques to create a truly unique series of films.
Crystal Geyser is clean, pure and natural spring water so every frame in their advertising needs to reflect that pristine brand image. Atomic Pictures built the end tag frame from digital elements and provided extensive cleanup throughout the spot. Cleanups included concealing multiple ear piercings on an actress, wardrobe fixes and repairing technical flaws in the client’s DSLR footage.
Atomic Pictures has developed eye-catching campaigns and contest promotions for Hard Rock properties in Mississippi and Oklahoma. Each month is a new and exciting look blending 3D animation, motion graphics and digital compositing.
Products must look perfect in advertising and no brand is more aware of that need than SunSweet. Every glass of juice needs to be the same exact color, every piece of fruit needs the perfect shape and glisten and each package must look pristine.
Atomic Pictures has performed extensive color correction, package replacement, label replacement and digital compositing in dozens of SunSweet commercials for domestic and European distribution.
My first experience at the Jimmie Hale Mission was a number of years ago as a volunteer serving breakfast. It was a humbling experience to look face to face with those whom we often ignore. It has been a pleasure to return to the mission and work with them on numerous awareness spots, fund appeals as well as retail advertising for their Mission Possible Bargain Centers. Jimmie Hale Mission is a truly great organization that is making real progress in the lives of countless men, women and children.
This campaign is pretty old but remains a favorite of ours. Simple green screen footage evolved across a few late-night edits into an Orwellian nightmare that probably convinced more than a few television viewers that drugs are really, really bad for you.
Alabama One Credit Union wanted to increase their loan share in the Tuscaloosa area. Alchemist Branding developed a fantasic comedic campaign to shake up the market and meet the client's sales objectives. Atomic Pictures handled casting, production and post. It was a fun-filled shoot that took us to locations in Birmingham, Tuscaloosa and Brian’s bedroom. Uh, don’t ask.
Mobile Attic needed to introduc their product to an crowded marketplace. Numerous visual effects were needed to bring the script to life. Produced by our good friends at Dill Productions, Atomic Pictures provided visual effects composting and post production editing.
Ronnie Watkins Ford wanted a high-end looking spot to promote his QuickLane service center. The goal was to stress the wide range of services offered to all makes and models with no appointment needed in fast, convenient location.
Where do you hurt? That seems to be what the doctor always asks so Brookwood Medical Center turned to our friends at Dill Productions to create this campaign. The simple message was that wherever you hurt, Brookwood is there to help. Extensive 3D motion tracking and animation was needed to articulate illustrations of bones, joints and other internal systems.
Hate typical car commercials? Yeah, us too, that’s why we don’t make typical car commercials. Atomic Pictures shoots and edits automotive ads that cut-through the clutter and deliver traffic for dealers across the country. No cookie cutter spots, we create custom looks and messages specific to each market. Funny and off the wall, hard and serious to super clean and polished, we do it.
Don Moore is a third generation car dealer in Owensboro, Kentucky. His advertising is known for bright, colorful, fun and friendly spots and his commercials are so popular that people line up at the dealership to say his famous catch phrase "It's Hot Don." Monthly assets produced by Atomic Pictures include television, radio and multiple web banners. The ever-changing visual style keeps buyers engaged and competitors guessing where we’re going next.

Ronnie Watkins Ford is an outstanding family owned and operated store in Gadsden, Alabama. Ronnie’s daughters have been part of the spots since the store opened. Bold graphics and high-quality production have allowed Ronnie Watkins Ford to be a pace setting dealer, competing with much larger stores in the Birmingham market.
Hoover Toyota is Birmingham’s #1 Toyota store. Atomic Pictures developed the blue man character to tell the story of Hoover’s unrelenting focus on the highest level of customer service. The latest spot features a fully 3D version of the blue man as he finds out how easy it is to shop at HooverToyota.com, even while wearing your jammies. Big props to Hoover Toyota owner; Gordie Stewart, for supplying the voice over for the spots. Atomic Pictures produced multiple commercials in the series and supporting point of purchase materials.
When Ray McKenney first approached Atomic Pictures he had the “Drive Happy” slogan and a basic black and white sketch of a cartoon car that he wasn’t too happy with. We took those elements, revamped the sketch into a full color set of characters that would be used to tell the McKenney story. It’s a fun-filled cartoon world with tons of original illustrations, bouncy music and snappy animation. With a modest production budget Atomic Pictures created effective spots that broke through in a market dominated by typical price point advertising.
